american legion

Sudden helped The American Legion to focus a very diverse and complicated information system into something that was easy to manage on the client side and engaging and easy to use for its intended audience of veterans averaging 65+ in age. Following the redesign, legion.org was able to integrate video and multiple microsites under one cohesive banner.

Several months following the launch of the site, the Legion turned again to Sudden in order to address a common issue amongst many organizations and associations; an overstretched digital team that have more work to do than there are hours in the day. Prior to Sudden’s involvement, legion.org was beginning to become a victim of its own success. Traffic to the site had grown faster than originally anticipated, putting additional demands on production capabilities, technology support and overall site structure. Further, the increase in traffic also garnered internal attention, creating additional desire within the organization to add new content, features and functionality that the Legion’s internal Digital department had a harder time satisfying under its structure at the time. Sudden provided the Legion with both strategic and tactical recommendations ranging from a standardized approach to user registration to leveraging outsourced development resources where appropriate.
